We require an experienced book-keeper for a mixture of work on-site at clients and in the office.
The following are the key requirements for the role :
• Good people skills
• Experienced on Sage
• Knowledge of Quickbooks would be useful
• Self-starter
• Good on Excel
• The ability to do some general accounts work would also be an advantage.
Day to Day Tasks as follows:
• Quarterly Book-keeping on Sage
• Quarterly Book-keeping on Quick-books
• Submission of VAT Returns online
• Assisting with the bigger clients, e.g. Raising cheques, raising sales invoice etc.
• Covering for other staff members
• Produce small year-end accounts
• Submit Corporation Tax Returns online (BTC Software)
• Get involved in the implementation of IRIS or Sage Practice management software.
• Do payroll
• Review of the deadlines we need to meet as a practice.
• Collate the information for and submit simple self-assessments online.
• Be liaison point for clients and so, sometimes, go to collect documents from clients.
• Answering the phone
• Franking/going to post office
• Depositing cheques at the bank
• General office duties
• Help prepare cash foreacsts & business plans for clients.
The majority of the candidate’s time will be spent on-site at clients and initially the role is for 2-3 days a week. Dependant on the candidate the role will move to full time within 3-6 months. 60% of the work is bookeeping and 40% other accountancy work.
